Finding the Middle Path Between Contemporary and Classical Pilates
We are not often encouraged to be fully present in our own bodies, so taking time to pursue Pilates is an opportunity to feel safe being present in one’s body and to feel empowered doing so. My goal is to help my students feel strong, brave, and connected to their bodies. While this is serious work, Pilates itself can be playful, creative, and, above all else, fun!
Practicing pilates is an exploration of the body. This includes space for making mistakes and for giving oneself permission to try new things. I want my students to feel safe asking questions and understanding that strength comes in all shapes and sizes. Pilates looks different on everyone—it’s what’s happening inside that’s important.
As a teacher, I guide my students to be able to develop the skills they need to make Pilates a lifelong practice they can take with them wherever they go.
Pilates is a language like no other. My role is help you become fluent in it.
